Hershel Saylor, 68, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2020 at 6:34 pm in Greenwood.
</p>
<p>
Visitation will be Friday, July 3rd from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at G.H. Herrmann Funeral Home located at 1605 S. State Rd 135 Greenwood, IN 46143.
</p>
<p>
Hershel was born in Beverly, Kentucky to Otis and Della Saylor on June 22, 1952. He graduated from Red Bird High School in Beverly, KY.
</p>
<p>
His first wife was Rita Thompson. He later married Deborah Saylor on September 2nd, 1989 in Greenwood, IN.
</p>
<p>
He was a loving father and grandfather, a mentor, and a jack of all trades. He has held various positions for many different companies including, Herff Jones, ADT, Lucas Oil, Banker’s Life Fieldhouse and IUPUI. He was an entrepreneur and a raconteur (skilled storyteller). As an entrepreneur, he started Saylor Enterprises, a technology- serviced business. He was very involved at WFYI, The American Red Cross, Midwest Amateur Radio Club (call letters WD9GMM), and the Indy Meetup Photo Club, where he loved 3D photography.

<p>
He was an editor, published author and award-winning photographer. He kept young at heart by playing with his grandchildren, learning about the latest technology, tinkering with electronics, photography and hiking at state and local parks.
</p>
<p>
Hershel was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Della, brother, Paul and sister, Margaret.
</p>
<p>
Hershel is survived by his wife, Deborah Saylor, children; Michael Saylor, Craig Gasaway, Kristin Vest, and Amber Reed (Saylor), brothers and sisters; Anna Lou, Charles, Ovie, Helen, Barb, Roland and Becky. He also is proceeded by his eight grandchildren.

The family of Hershel wishes to extend our sincerest thanks to Dr. Harold Longe and Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care for their care and comfort throughout his journey. Hershel is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
