Franklin man arrested after firing shots into house

<p>A Franklin man was arrested this weekend after police say he fired at least five shots at someone’s house. </p><p>Charles S. Perkins, 45, was arrested on two charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony. </p><p>A man reported to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office that he found five bullet holes inside his Trafalgar house in the 3400 block of South County Road 25 West about 10:30 a.m. Saturday, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.</p><p>He told deputies he hadn’t noticed the bullet holes when he came home the night before, and he found them that morning. There were two holes upstairs and three downstairs, according to the report. </p><p>He told deputies he noticed the damage upstairs on his weight bench at the beginning of July, but he did not think it was caused by bullets at the time. Deputies determined the house had been shot at on two different days, the report said.</p><p>The man said he suspected Perkins had fired the shots because he had been dating his ex-wife, and Perkins had made threats toward him on social media, according to the report. </p><p>Deputies went to Perkins’ house where he eventually agreed to go with them to the sheriff’s office to answer questions. Perkins told deputies he fired shots into the home on two separate occasions, on July 4 and Saturday, the report said. </p><p>He also told the deputies where he kept the gun in his house, and it was retrieved as evidence, according to the report. </p><p>Perkins was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail. He is held on $6,600 bond. </p>
