Crime stoppers offers reward for information in Greenwood shooting

<p>Greenwood police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects involved in a shooting last week at a local gas station, and Crime Stoppers is offering a reward. </p><p>Greenwood police responded about 9:30 p.m. Aug. 12 to a report of shots fired at the Thornton’s gas station on U.S. 31 and Stop 18 Road.</p><p>One witness told police they saw a red vehicle pull into the parking lot and fire several shots at a gray SUV, according to a Greenwood Police Department report. The witness said a Black man who appeared to be in his 30s was driving the red vehicle, and the shooter, who appeared to be a biracial man also in his 30s, was in the passenger seat. The shooter was wearing a black hat. </p><p>One of the gun shots blew through the glass of the gas station’s exit door. Both vehicles fled south on U.S. 31 after the shooting, the report said.</p><p>Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana is offering a cash reward of up $1,000 to anyone who has information that leads to the suspect’s arrest. The shooter has been described as a Black man driving a red Honda Civic, according to a news release from Crime Stoppers.</p><p>Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers by calling 317-215-5900 with the case number #200821SR. Only tips made to Crime Stoppers will be eligible for the reward, the news release said. </p>
