Alton W. Rodgers, age 78, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, September 14, 2020 at Community South Hospital in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Trafalgar.
</p>
<p>
Alton was born March 17, 1942, in Liberty, Kentucky, to his parents, the late Louie and Elsie (Emerson) Rodgers. He retired in 1995 from the State Highway Department of INDOT as a Supervisor after 30 years of service. After retirement, Alton worked for 10 years a Supervisor for Bessie Veneer in Trafalgar.

<p>
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary L. (Hendley) Rodgers, whom he married on October 24, 1961 in Trafalgar. Alton is also survived by his children, Allen (Joyce) Rodgers and Beth Brown, both of Trafalgar; siblings, Lorene (Buddy) Tinsley and Glen Rodgers, both of Kentucky; grandchildren, Melissa Mofield of Trafalgar, Jeffrey Rodgers of Franklin, Tyler Rodgers and Alan Barnes, both of Trafalgar; and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ewell Rodgers.
</p>
<p>
Alton enjoyed hunting squirrels, rabbit and coons. He also enjoyed fishing, tending to his vegetable garden and restoring old tractors and trucks. Alton loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
</p>
<p>
The Rev. John Bell will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation &amp; Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
