Mary Jane (Elkins) Woods, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, September 23, 2020 at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Greenwood and a former resident of Morgantown.
</p>
<p>
Mary Jane was born January 20, 1935, in Johnson County, to her parents, the late Marvin E. and Marjorie E. (Whitaker) Elkins. She was a 1953 graduate of Morgantown High School and went on to study at the Jordan School of Music at Butler University.
</p>
<p>
Mary Jane is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Franklin D. ‘Frank’ Woods, whom she married at the First Christian Church of Morgantown on November 26, 1953. She is also survived by her children, Dawn E. (Walt) Ireland of Indianapolis and Christopher F. (Connie Brienza) Woods of Arvada, CO; grandchildren, Hans (Leslie) Holbrook of Martinsville and Andrea (Spencer) Powell of Avon; great grandchildren, Cash, Carly and London.

Mary Jane had a passion for music and a love for the arts. They were both major parts of her life. For more than 15 years, she shared her passion and talent with hundreds of students through private piano and organ lessons. Mary Jane played the organ at the Franklin Masonic Home for over 16 years, played for weddings, church and funeral services for over 60 years.
</p>
<p>
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Morgantown, Greenwood Order of the Eastern Star and the Ladies Shrine. Other memberships include the Morgantown Chapter of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Matinee Musicals.
</p>
<p>
Mary Jane enjoyed traveling with her husband. Together they visited six of the seven continents which included 36 islands and 46 countries. Through the years, Mary Jane worked as a Secretary for the Indiana State House and for the First Christian Church of Morgantown.
</p>
<p>
The Rev. Ann Gatts will conduct a private family graveside East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. Funeral services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation &amp; Personalization Center in Morgantown.
</p>
<p>
