Greenwood brewery closed early due to mask-related threats

<p>A local brewery closed early Thursday after a man who refused to wear a mask inside threatened staff repeatedly. </p><p>MashCraft Brewing Company, on State Road 135, called police Thursday night after the man left. The man was a customer at the brewery, and became angry after employees asked him to wear a mask, making aggressive verbal threats and cursing at them, according to a Greenwood Police Department report. </p><p>The man eventually left, but then called the store repeatedly, leaving voicemails in which he threatened to come back and assault the employees. He also threatened to harm the families of those who worked at the brewery, according to the report. </p><p>Employees at MashCraft could not identify the man, but told police he had been to the brewery before, the report said. MashCraft decided to close early, about 9 p.m., due to the repeated threats.</p><p>MashCraft has since reopened during its normal business hours, the brewery said in a statement Friday</p><p>The brewery requires all customers to wear masks unless seated, a requirement that is marked clearly by several signs inside, according to the statement. </p><p>Police are investigating and no arrested had been made Friday. </p>
