Emerson "Bud" L. Abbott, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, November 15, 2020 at his residence in Nineveh. He was a former resident of Franklin, Indiana.
</p>
<p>
He was born on November 28, 1935 in Johnson County, Indiana to Alva C. Abbott and Florence E. (Roberts) Mudd. He married Lucille Abbott on December 19, 1955. She lovingly survives. Bud is also survived by daughter, Lucy Darlene Rothwell (James) and five grandchildren, Eric, Brandon, Joshua, Haley and Daniel; eleven great- grandchildren and two brothers, Tony Abbott and Gene Abbott. He was preceded in passing by his parents; two sons, William Lawson Abbott and Nathan Scott Abbott and siblings, Evelyn Roy, Barbara Hildebrand, Betty Chaney, Carolyn Bowman and Jack Abbott.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.
</p>
<p>
Bud retired from Franklin Community School Corporation as a custodian, after several years of dedicated service.
</p>
<p>
He was a member of the Franklin Church of the Nazarene where he was very active in the church, singing in the choir and being an usher.
</p>
<p>
Pastor Max Downs will conduct a celebration of Bud’s life on Wednesday, November 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the Franklin Church of the Nazarene, 140 Branigin Road, Franklin, Indiana 46131. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 18 from 11:00 a.m. to time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be a Young’s Creek Cemetery.
