FRANKLIN, INDIANA
</p>
<p>
Patricia (Beltz) Stevens passed away suddenly from this life on Christmas Day 2020. She will be remembered by all she encountered as a dependable friend and colleague, gifted heart with talent and good humor.

<p>
Born in 1943 to Walter and Alice (Richard) Beltz in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania, Pat became valedictorian of her 1961 high school class, received an undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College in 1965, a master’s degree at Wisconsin University in 1966, and began teaching mathematics in eastern Pennsylvania. She married John Stevens on December 26, 1966, and in 1976 joined him at his military assignment near Nurnberg, West Germany, where she taught at the American School for military dependents there. In 1970 they moved to State College Pennsylvania, where Pat again taught math while John pursued his doctorate at Penn State. In 1967 they moved to Needham, Massachusetts; here John taught at Babson College and Pat earned her MBA degree in 1978 and worked at the Boston Federal Reserve Bank.

<p>
Their final move in 1985 was to Franklin, Indiana, where John began teaching at Franklin College and Pat found employment at Johnson Memorial Hospital and eventually became Vice-President of Finance. She subsequently worked for Southern Indiana healthcare organizations in their relations with insurers. During these years Pat volunteered for many community organizations- CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates), Johnson County Humane Society, Franklin Symphony Women, United Way- and became a faithful member and treasurer of Hopewell Presbyterian Church. She had also been a member and officer at various women’s organizations and enjoyed bridge and book clubs. She loved to travel, visiting all fifty states, dozens of countries and every continent.

Pat is survived by her husband, John; sister, Nancy Lomax; sisters-in-law Ann Raymond and Mary Stevens; and nephews, Kevin and Brian Raymond.
