GREENWOOD
Bernie H. Martin, 82, of Greenwood, IN, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.
Bernie was born on April 12, 1939 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Beatrice (Allison) & John Martin.
Bernie married the love of his life, Marie (Kent) Martin, on June 18, 1958 in Indianapolis, IN. They were married for 63 wonderful years.
Bernie was employed at Century Oil Company and worked as a service station manager for more than 20 years until his retirement.
Bernie is survived by his wife, Marie Martin of Greenwood, IN; his two children, Richard D. (Kimberly) Martin of Frankfort, IN and Marcia (Tony) Woods of Indianapolis, IN; his seven grandchildren, Joe (Yoko) Ziegelbauer, Jessi Ziegelbauer, Brittney Woods, Jennifer Guffy, Christopher Martin, McKinsey Martin, and Makayla “Kayla” Martin; his four great-grandchildren, Keiko Ziegelbauer, Ryusuke Ziegelbauer, Harrison Guffy, and Eleanor Guffy; his brother, John Martin of Greenwood, IN; his dear friend, Janis Griffin of New Whiteland, IN.
Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice & John Martin; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Aneti & Glen Harper and Rose & Sam Rudy.
A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 1:00pm at Northern Park Baptist Church in Greenwood, IN with visitation from 11:00am until the funeral hour. Bernie will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
