Richard "Dick" "Rich" E. Veleta, 82 of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 in Indianapolis.
</p>
<p>
He was born on February 6, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph V. Veleta, Sr. and Mildred (Stanek) Veleta. Dick married Betty J. (Mills) Veleta on December 20, 1975. She lovingly survives. He is also survived by daughter, Libby Bridges (Mark) of Indianapolis and son, David Veleta (Kylie) of Greenwood; grandchildren, Mitchell Bridges (Ashley) of Indianapolis, Molly Brown (John) of Greenwood, Andra, Alec, and Kata Veleta of Greenwood and great-grandchild, Killian Bridges of Indianapolis.

<p>
Dick was a graduate of Morton East High School and a 1964 graduate of Franklin College. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve.
</p>
<p>
Dick worked for the Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) for thirty-five years. He retired as the Vice President of National Inventory Management.
</p>
<p>
He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, avid golfer for his entire life, and devoted Chicago Cub fan. Dick’s priority was his faith, family and friends.
</p>
<p>
Rev. Andy Kinsey and Rev. Mike Beck will conduct a private family service on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. and will be livestreamed at 2:00 p.m. for family and friends to connect and view at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Franklin American Legion Post No. 205 and the United States Army.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Interchurch Food Pantry of Johnson County, 211 Commerce Drive, Franklin, Indiana 46131 and/or to Grace United Methodist Church, Food Ministries, 1300 E. Adams Drive, Franklin, Indiana 46131.
