EDINBURGH
Iona M. Froedge, 89, of Edinburgh, passed away at7:25 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Iona was born August 28, 1931, in Edmonton, Kentucky, the daughter of Earl Palmer and Goldie Miller Huff. On March 20, 1954, she married Lester G. Froedge.
Mrs. Froedge attended Edmonton Kentucky High School. She was a member of the Church of Christ and a loving mother and homemaker. Iona worked 14 years at Columbus Regional Hospital and two years at Office Pride in Franklin, Indiana. She loved several hobbies and enjoyed walking. Iona will be greatly missed by those that knew her.
Survivors include her son, Lanny Froedge; daughter, Sherry Froedge, both of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Eric Froedge, Patrick Froedge, Amberly Kent, Brittany Locke, Cody Froedge, Chase Froedge; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester; a son, a daughter and a sister.
The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Adam Carrigan officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. A live stream of the funeral service may be viewed at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at barkesweaverglick.com.
Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
