William J. "Bill" Tavenor

William J. "Bill" Tavenor, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother entered into eternal rest at the age of 102 on February 21, 2021. A resident of Greenwood he was born on May 10, 1918 in Indianapolis to the late William E. and Magdalena Phillipina Wilhelmina (Brunner) Tavenor.
</p>
<p>
Bill was a 1936 graduate of Manual High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
</p>
<p>
He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, a 75 year member of Centre Masonic Lodge #23, and National Association of Accountants.
</p>
<p>
Bill was an accountant for Mayflower, retiring in 1986.
</p>
<p>
He enjoyed bowling and golfing up into his 90’s. He and Hilda enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, and square dancing. He also enjoyed reading Dick Francis books, playing canasta. Bill will always be remembered for his teasing and great sense humor.
</p>
<p>
Bill leaves behind to treasure his memory, his daughter, Sue (Don) Good; son, William J. (Susan) Tavenor Jr; five grandchildren, Matt (Kim) Good, Alex (Lauren) Good, Seth (Roy) Good, Ryan (Alicia) Tavenor, Rachel (Justin) Pepper; five great grandchildren, Julia &amp; Olivia Tavenor, Hailey &amp; Aubrey Good, Louisa Pepper; and brother, Albert Tavenor.
</p>
<p>
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Hilda Marie Tavenor.
</p>
<p>
A Graveside service will be conducted privately for the family at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
</p>
<p>
Arrangements have been entrusted to G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.
</p>
