Donald "Donnie" Lee Pate, Sr., 80, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at his residence in Bargersville surrounded by his loving family.
</p>
<p>
He was born on October 31, 1940 in Beech Grove, Indiana to Irvin Earl and Mildred Helen (Voris) Pate.
</p>
<p>
Donnie married Mary Sue (Hogue) Pate in 1961. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. She lovingly survives.
</p>
<p>
Other survivors include his son, Donald Pate, Jr. (Robin); granddaughters, Megan Gill and Brooke Pate; and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in passing by his parents and his son, Robert Pate.
</p>
<p>
Donnie attended Union High School. He worked as a machine operator for Bendix Division for many years. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Bargersville.
</p>
<p>
Donnie was a collector of small items. He loved his dogs and was an amazing grandfather.
</p>
<p>
A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
</p>
<p>
Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
