Linda Gay ‘Eda’ Stephens

INDIANAPOLIS

Linda Gay “Eda” Stephens, 68, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014. The world lost a kind, loving, caring, gentle soul with her passing.

Having never married or had children of her own, she devoted her love and attention to her only niece, Stacy, her husband, Jon, and their two children, Caden and Cassidy.

She was always there for them with special fun gifts for the holidays and birthdays and always available when they needed hugs or encouragement. She was truly their “special” mother and grandmother.

She devoted her life to helping and encouraging all her relatives, including her brother, Jerry; her parents, James and Bonnie; all her many uncles, aunts and cousins; her numerous friends; and everyone at her church, Heartland Church of Christ.

She loved to travel with her five girlfriends from her college days at David Lipscomb University. We are so happy she got to go with them this past year to Hawaii — her lifetime dream!

She was much loved and will be forever missed, but she is in a better place with all her loved ones who have passed through the veil.

She may not be with us physically, but her light still shines brightly in those she loved. Linda is survived by her brother, Jerry (Debbie) Stephens; niece, Stacy (Jon) Hubner; and great-nieces, Caden and Cassidy Hubner.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Heartland Church of Christ, 1693 W. Main St., Greenwood. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial gifts be made to the Heartland Church of Christ, in care of the funeral home.

Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center is handling arrangements.
