Teens face burglary charges

Two teens were arrested after residents told police they were breaking into homes in a Franklin subdivision.

Zachary Leveranz, 18, 975 Arabian Way, Bargersville, and Mark Nally, 18, 180 Maple Lane, Franklin, were each arrested on a charge of burglary.

A woman who was stopping at her father’s house in the 400 block of Lancelot Drive in the Camelot subdivision called police to report a burglary that happened at 1:30 p.m. She walked into the house to pick up some money her father had left when she heard people in the bedroom, according to a police report. She went to a neighbor’s house and called police, the report said. The teens took about $100 cash, a police news release said.

Another resident told police he saw the same two men trying to enter a neighbor’s shed in the 100 block of Roundelay Drive less than a half-hour later. The resident confronted the two teens and they ran to a nearby Jeep and sped off, according to a police report.

Residents in the area recognized the teens as Leveranz and Nally, the report said.

Both teens were arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail, where they were released on $13,200 bond.
