Students in Greenwood and Franklin will soon benefit from a national backpack giveaway campaign.

More than 1,300 participating TCC and A Wireless stores across the U.S. are inviting local families to visit the stores today to pick up a backpack filled with school supplies including pencils, paper, a pencil box, folders and glue. One backpack per child present will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. More than 200,000 backpacks full of school supplies will be given away to local kids.

Participating TCC stores in Greenwood and Franklin are located at at 120 W. Smith Valley Road, Suite. E, 81 N. State Road 135, and 2199 N. Morton St. Each participating TCC store will donate 250 backpacks and each A Wireless store will donate 125 backpacks.

All leftover backpacks will be donated to local schools.

Mindy Clark of Boggstown, recently became an agent representing home and auto insurance company Farmers.

The new Farmers office is located at 121 E. Monroe St., Franklin. The office opened with a celebratory open house on July 27.

Farmers agents and district managers serve customers in communities throughout the Johnson County area. Farmers offers services which include home, auto, renter’s, life, flood and business insurance.

Pediatrician Dr. Shanna Bowman, was recognized recently as the latest recipient of the Healing Hands Award, presented quarterly by Franciscan St. Francis Health.

The award recognizes physicians for excellence in clinical skills, patient relations, research, stewardship and reflection of the hospital’s ministry, values and mission.

Bowman practices at County Line Pediatrics, a Franciscan Physician Network practice. She has been affiliated with Franciscan St. Francis Health since 2010.

Board-certified in pediatrics, Bowman earned her undergraduate degree from Indiana University in Bloomington and her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her residency training at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Jenny Laughner, Don Harrington and the Rob Campbell Team of RE/MAX Results were named as among the nation’s top sales associates and teams as a part of REAL Trends’ “America’s Best Real Estate Agents,” a new ranking report produced by REAL Trends and sponsored by Zillow Group.

The report ranked agents in four categories: individual agent sales volume and transaction sales; and agent team sales volume and transaction sales.

Waddell & Reed finfancial adviser Janette F. Koon has been named a recipient of the firm’s 2016 Crest Award, among the highest honors for the firm’s advisers.

The awards are given to advisers based on an analysis of investment, insurance and financial planning sales. Koon has received the recognition for the 10th time.
