Hearts & Darts – November 14

Hearts

Hearts to Center Grove High School student government, Trick-or-Treat for Cans co-chairs Phoebe Nguyen and Mackenna Pruitt, and residents of White River Township. This year’s Halloween canned food collection was one for the records. The Center Grove Alternative Academy’s CARE Pantry received 4,545 cans. The community was so supportive that the students ran out of space in their cars before they ran out of homes to collect cans. The pantry serves residents of Johnson County and is the only student-run food pantry in Indiana that serves an entire county. Thank you for helping us continue to serve those in need.

A million hearts to Sharon Hood and the facilities staff for the wonderful care of our woodcarving show Nov. 5. We were in the gym at the Franklin parks and recreation building. Sharon’s weeks of preparation, and the facilities staff set-up and take-down and cleaning — it just shows the dedication these good people have for the people of Franklin and our guests. This was our ninth show. And we certainly can count on the same care and blessing for our 10th show a year from now. Thanks and hugs.

A big thanks to Horizon Bank for sponsoring the Interchurch Food Pantry on Nov. 21-22 to feed the hungry in our community. Similarly, the Center Grove Dairy Queen and Franklin Insurance Agency have sponsored the pantry on Nov 23. In addition, John Auld is providing staff for this week. These sponsorships allow the pantry to alleviate hunger this Thanksgiving week. Thank you!
