Police arrive after child briefly missing

Police were called to a Whiteland school after a child went missing from class.

At 9:30 a.m., police were called to Break-O-Day Elementary School, located at 900 Sawmill Road, for a child that school staff could not find.

The child had run out of a classroom, and staff was not able to find him for five to 10 minutes. They called police, which is standard procedure, Clark-Pleasant Superintendent Patrick Spray said.

Shortly after contacting police, staff found the child inside the school, Spray said.
