A Franklin man was injured while driving his ATV with a snow plow in the city on Friday afternoon.
Christopher Sawyers, 57, of Franklin was operating an ATV on his property in the 1200 block of East King Street, between Eastview Drive and Forsyth St., when the incident occurred, according to an Indiana Department of Natural Resources news release.
His ATV had a snow plow mounted to the front, and the plow got caught on the ground while Sawyers was driving through a ditch, the news release said.
Sawyers was thrown forward and his face struck the plow blade, causing cuts and injuries to his face and eyes, the release said. He was not wearing protective gear.
He was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and was expected to have surgery, the news release said. His injuries are not life threatening.
The accident happened at 1 p.m.
