Atkison’s three goals enough for Cubs
Owen Atkison delivered three goals for Franklin on Tuesday as the Grizzly Cubs defeated Southport 3-2. Assists were provided by Joe Nerding, Owen Mahin and E.J. Young, while goalkeeper Dylan Bastin was credited with five saves.
Bears too much for Center Grove
Nick Shirer picked up a goal off an assist from Colin Parry, but it wasn’t enough as Lawrence Central downed Center Grove 3-1.
Rebels tie Franklin Central
Roncalli rallied from a 3-0 deficit with three goals of its own to tie Franklin Central.
Rebels goals were scored by Vince Agramonte, Mateo Gonzalez and William Bawi. Providing assists were Thomas Thang and Juan Gallo.

Greyhounds coast past Trojans
Carmel scored a 155-195 decision against Center Grove at Hickory Stick. The Trojans’ low scores were Lucy Young with a 42, Lauren Pagel’s 48 and Halle Booher with a 51.
Terhune leads Woodmen win
Maecee Terhune picked up medalist honors with a 41 to lead Greenwood past Bloomington North 188-190. Taylor Watson and Maeci West both shot 48 for the Woodmen, while Laila Stein had a 41.
Lancers defeat South Decatur
Vanessa McManaway carded a 45 and Kierra Richards a 50 for Edinburgh in its 201-230 defeat of South Decatur.
GCA victorious in shortened match
Time constraints limited Greenwood Christian’s match to only six holes played, but the Cougars shot 144 to down Shortridge (198) and Crispus Attucks (212).
Individually for GCA, Sophia Valant led the way with a 33 and Ashtyn Witte a 36.

Braves get past Southwestern
Indian Creek defeated Southwestern (Shelby) 3-2 to improve to 2-1 overall.
Singles triumphs by Scott Russell and Markus Lang scored two of the Braves’ points with the No. 2 doubles team of Hunter Ankney and Dustin Hamblen winning in three sets.
Lancers lose to Brownstown Central
Brownstown Central defeated Edinburgh, 4-1, with the Lancers’ point coming at No. 2 doubles with Parker Bryant and Bryce Burton winning in straight sets.

Grizzly Cubs down Pioneers
Franklin defeated Mooresville, 25-14, 25-20, 25-19 on the strength of nine kills and 25 assists from junior setter Brooke Phillips. Alyvia Sundheimer and Cami Kelsey added eight and seven kills, respectively, for the Grizzly Cubs.
Braves improve to 4-2 on season
Indian Creek won its match against Cascade 25-19, 25-20, 25-18.
Lancers defeat Morristown
Edinburgh improved to 2-0 in conference play and 4-4 overall. The Lancers defeated Morristown, 25-19, 25-14, 22-25, 26-24.

State softball final moving to Purdue
The IHSAA Executive Committee unanimously approved Purdue University as the new host site for next spring’s IHSAA Softball State Finals. The four state championship games, scheduled for Saturday, June 9, 2018, will be played at Bittinger Stadium in West Lafayette.
The facility, completed in 2015 and with seating for 1,000 spectators, has earned a reputation as one of the nation’s best collegiate venues.
