Losing weight could earn you thousands of dollars.
Partnership for a Healthier Johnson County is conducting a 12-week team weight loss challenge starting later this month.
Interested participants should gather a team of five. Each team will compete to see which team loses the highest percentage of weight. The first-place team will earn $10,000. The second-place teams earns $5,000, and the third-place team earns $3,000.
The challenge starts Jan. 26 and ends April 20. Registration is $70 per person for the three months. Individuals can earn back their registration fee by losing 10 percent of their body weight in nine months.
