Karyn A. Hakes

FRANKLIN

Karyn A. (Wade) Hakes, 56, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018. She was born to Claude and Veda Wade on October 12, 1961 in Lexington, Kentucky.

Karyn graduated with the class of 1980 at Whiteland Community High School. She then went on to get her Associates in Horticulture from Vincennes.

Karyn married her husband, Marion Hakes on October 4, 1986. Karyn spent her years being a homemaker, taking care of her family. In her down time, Karyn loved doing puzzles, and reading. She also was very good at crafts, needlepoint and cross stitching. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church for many years.

Karyn is survived by her husband of 31 years, Marion Hakes of Franklin; her mother, Veda Wade of Nineveh; son, Christopher Hakes of Franklin; a sister, Susan Wade (Paul) Anderson of Nineveh; a brother, Claude M. Wade of Nineveh; two nephews, Jacob and Luke Anderson; and a niece Rachel Anderson.

Karyn was preceded in death by her father, Claude Wade.

A funeral service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. A visitation will be starting at 9:30 a.m., and will lead up to the service. To leave condolences go to www.jessenfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to Jessen Funeral Home, Franklin Chapel.
