Erica Shepherd, a junior at Center Grove, got her 2018 golf season off to a solid start, tying for sixth at the prestigious ANA Junior Inspiration at Mission Hills Country club in Rancho Mirage, California.
After shooting 70 and 75 in her two rounds on Saturday to land in a tie for eighth, Shepherd carded an even-par 72 in Sunday’s final round. Her total score of 217 left her eight strokes behind winner Rose Zhang.
(Note: Saturday’s Daily Journal incorrectly reported that Shepherd had shot a 76 on Friday. That was her first-round score from 2017.)
