A man was shot at a Greenwood apartment complex Friday night, and police are investigating.
Shane Gross, 26, of Bargersville, was shot in the back during the incident, Greenwood Police Assistant Chief Matt Fillenwarth said. He is hospitalized.
The incident happened just before 10 p.m. Friday night at the BayShore Apartments complex on Main Street, east of State Road 135.
Police are attempting to talk to a large group of people, some of whom are residents, who may have information or be witnesses, Fillenwarth said. Police have learned that a confrontation escalated into shots being fired, he said.
The incident was not a random shooting, he said.
