Some Whiteland residents asked to boil water

Some Whiteland residents are being asked to boil their water before drinking or cooking with it.

The town has issued a drinking water boil order for residents that live on the following streets due to a water main break:

  • Main Street, east of the railroad tracks
  • North Front Street, from Main Street to Poplar Street
  • Pearl Street, from the railroad tracks to Elm Street
  • Boone Street
  • Elm Street
  • North and South State Street
  • Brewer Street
  • Poplar Street
  • Walnut Street

Residents should boil water for five minutes before consumption now through noon Friday. Town workers will test the water and notify residents when it is safe to consume without boiling.Â
