Michael Wyman homered twice and Garett Hill and Braden Parks each added a long ball as Center Grove overpowered Ben Davis, 11-1, in five innings on Tuesday.

Josh Johnson got the win for the Trojans (11-5, 6-3 MIC), scattering four hits.

Lancers whitewash Spartans

Zach Giles yielded just four hits while going the distance in Edinburgh’s 5-0 win over Southwestern (Shelbyville) on Tuesday. Parker Bryant had three hits for the Lancers (7-6, 6-3 Mid-Hoosier).

Softball

Grizzly Cubs edge Warriors

Izzy Harrison pitched a complete game and struck out 15 as Franklin edged Whiteland, 2-1, on Tuesday.

Madi Fishel had two hits and scored the winning run when she was driven in by Baylee Parker.

Rebels defeat Woodmen

Winning pitcher Jordan Jenkins went 5 for 5 with a grand slam to carry Class A No. 5 Roncalli past Greenwood, 18-3, on Tuesday.

Trojans coast past Giants

Abby Herbst homered, drove in four runs and tossed a three-hit shutout as Class 4A No. 1 Center Grove cruised to a 5-0 victory over conference foe Ben Davis on Tuesday.

Lancers hammer Southwestern

Sidney Beier had four of Edinburgh’s 19 hits in a 15-2 rout of Southwestern (Shelbyville) on Tuesday.

Vanessa McManaway and Paige Burton each added three hits and four RBIs for the Lancers (10-4, 8-1 Mid-Hoosier). McManaway combined with Maddi Clark on a two-hitter.

Girls tennis

Braves handle Saints

Indian Creek earned a 4-1 win over Indianapolis Lutheran on Tuesday. Katie Burkman and Alyssa Pruitt were victorious at No. 1 singles, while the Braves got doubles wins from the teams of Mya Piccone and Mekenzie Hunter (No. 1) and Brooke Coy & Ali Harris (No. 2).

Trojans shut out Cougars

Center Grove posted an easy 5-0 victory over Bloomington North. Isabella Schoolcraft, Ellie Strube and Jillian Garrett swept their singles matches in straight sets. Emily Hoy and Ashlee Fisk won at No. 1 doubles, while Abby Hoard and Holyn Aukerman did the same at No. 2.

Boys golf

Warriors fall to Quakers

A balanced Whiteland lineup came up short against Plainfield on Tuesday, 153 to 169. Zach Ricketts led the Warriors with a round of 41.

Rebels pick up victory

Luke Poole’s 35 helped lead Roncalli squeak past Avon, 158 to 163, on Tuesday.
