Richard Arthur Cullers, 73, passed away at 11:22 pm Friday, May 4, 2018 at his Greenwood, IN residence, after a well fought battle with cancer. He was born on May 11, 1944 in Fort Wayne, the son of Claude Cullers and Betty (Cullers) Baker.

Richard spent his entire childhood in Columbia City. He graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1962. He then went on to attend Fort Wayne Business College, prior to entering the United States Air Force, serving for 4 years as Airman First Class during the Viet Nam War.

He was married on May 15, 1965 at Grace Lutheran Church to Sandra K. Cozad. Richard was a communication technician with AT&T for 30 years retiring in 1998. He was a member of the American Legion Post #98 and a former member of Eagles Lodge #1906.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra K. Cullers, Greenwood; son, Brent J. Cullers and daughter, Lisa (David) Anderson, both of Greenwood; 4 grandchildren, Hanna and Kenna Anderson, of Greenwood and Clayton and Kaitlyn Cullers of Mooresville; father-in-law, Kenneth Cozad, Greenwood. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Bonnie Tonkel.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 2-7:00p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services for Richard will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the funeral home. Military Rites will be presented by the Korean War Veteran’s Honor Guard.
