Police investigating after guns, cash stolen from home

Guns and cash were stolen from a home south of Franklin after someone threw a rock through a glass door.

Residents of a home in the 3000 block of County Road 250S, east of U.S. 31, called police just after 8 p.m. Friday after finding their home had been ransacked sometime that day, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report.

A rock had been thrown through a sliding glass door, and multiple items were missing or moved, the report said.

The homeowners found televisions, video game systems and a guitar loaded in hampers, but not taken, as if the thieves were planning to return or had been scared off, the report said.

But cash, jewelry and a safe were all taken, the report said.

Multiple guns were also missing from the home, but the resident wasn’t sure how many had been taken, the report said.

The sheriff’s office is investigating.
