Motorcyclists injured in crashes

Two motorcyclists were taken to hospitals for treatment after being injured in separate crashes during the weekend.

Caleb Armand, 24, of Nineveh, was riding a motorcycle on Old Hospital Road, west of Edinburgh, at 9:45 p.m. Friday, when a deer ran out onto the road, causing him to lose control of his motorcycle, a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said.

Armand was taken to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital to be treated for cuts. He was treated and released Saturday, a hospital spokesperson said.

Steven Larracey, 52, of Camby, was riding a motorcycle west on State Road 44 near Centerline Road just before 3 p.m. Saturday. Larracey told police that he crashed after misjudging a curve and driving too fast around it, the report said.

Larracey was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital for treatment. An update on his condition wasn’t available on Monday.
