Rowen, Shepherd crack top 20 at Northern Am
Sean Rowen of Greenwood had to settle for an 18th-place tie at the Northern Amateur at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton after shooting a final-round 76 on Friday.
Rowen finished the three-day tourney with a 1-over-par total of 217. Ethan Shepherd finished one shot behind Rowen in a tie for 20th at 218.
Also in the field was Zachary Carrabine, whose total of 230 left him alone in 62nd place.
Local women compete in Indiana Open
Three Johnson County golfers took part in the Indiana PGA Women’s Open at TPC Woodland Trails this week in Yorktown.
Sydney Abbott was the top local finisher, totaling a 157 (13 over par) to finish in a tie for 42nd. Shelby Schier was one stroke behind Abbott in a tie for 44th, while Crystal Morse tied for 66th at 167.
