Police investigating carjacking

Greenwood police are investigating after a person’s vehicle was stolen at gunpoint early Monday morning.

Just before 4 a.m., an employee at the Meijer gas station, off State Road 135 in Greenwood, reported to police that a customer had been robbed at gunpoint, according to Greenwood police.

Investigators suspect the thief had dumped another vehicle, believed to be stolen during a robbery in Indianapolis. The thief came across the customer, who was getting gas, and then robbed him at gunpoint, stealing his vehicle, Greenwood Police Department Assistant Chief Matt Fillenwarth said.
