Lane closures planned on State Road 37

Drivers will need to prepare for lane closures on State Road 37 in the near future.

The bridges crossing Bluff Creek Road will be limited to one lane in both directions soon for bridge overlay work, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.

The state does not know when exactly the barriers will go up, state department of transportation spokesperson Harry Maginity said.

The construction is being done by Weddle Brothers, which uses a subcontractor to put up traffic barriers. Sometimes the barriers go up before construction starts, so the state wanted to make drivers aware early on, Maginity said.

Lanes can be closed for up to 14 days under the state contract, Maginity said.
