Vernon D. Dunham

EDINBURGH

Vernon D. Dunham, 92, of Edinburgh, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born June 12, 1926 in Bartholomew County, Indiana. He was the son of Samuel M. and Dorothy E. (Long) Dunham. He married Jane M. (Bills) Dunham on May 7, 1948 and she preceded him on June 25, 2005.

He is survived by his daughters, Marjorie Jane (Chuck) Klotz of Waterloo, Illinois, Diana K. (Stephen) Smith of Franklin, Indiana, and Dale Ann (Mike) McCain of Edinburgh, Indiana, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, brother, Donald M. (Sandy) Dunham of Shelbyville, Indiana, sisters, Wanda Purcell of Shelbyville, Indiana, Carolyn McClure of Shelbyville, Indiana, Glenda Cochran of Morristown, Indiana, Rosealetha Neumann of Wisconsin, and Linda Purcell of Shelbyville, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Daniel Lee Dunham, brothers, Gene L. Dunham and William K. Dunham, and sisters, Juanita Doan, and Audrey Barlow.

He served in the US Navy. He was a member of the Edinburgh Masonic Lodge #100. He was a life-long farmer and had dairy cattle. He also drove a school bus. He was an avid reader. He owned and operated Dunham Carriages which he provided for parades and events. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 by Reverend Bryan Trotter at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Monday, October 1. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
