Daugherty continues outstanding career at Hanover

Jackson Daugherty had 90 yards receiving, including a 7-yard touchdown catch, to help Hanover College’s football team pick up a 55-8 win at Anderson.

Daugherty, a junior who played at Greenwood, is tied for the team lead in receptions this season with 21 to go along with his team-best 363 receiving yards.

GREENWOOD

Wabash freshman Ethan Pine placed 225th out of 412 runners at the Louisville cross country Classic. Pine’s time was 27:29.1 as the Little Giants finished 21st of 45 teams.

CENTER GROVE

Franklin College golfer Jackson Williams secured medalist honors at the DaPauw Classic with a 3-under-par total of 71-70—141 at Deer Creek Golf Course.

IUPUI golfer Austin Crowder tied for second individually at the Zach Johnson Invitational in Des Moines, Iowa, with a 2-over-par score of 215.

Zack Carrabine of Butler fired a 36-hole total of 143 to help lead the Bulldogs to the championship of their own fall invitational. University of Indianapolis golfer Chris Heck also took part in the tournament, shooting a 157.

Freshman tennis player Isabella Schoolcraft won both of her matches for Valparaiso at the two-day West Point Invitational.

Ohio State’s Madison Smeathers had 13 kills, a block and a dig as the Buckeyes’ volleyball squad lost in five sets at Maryland.

The Denver volleyball team, helped by Macy Carrabine’s 20 digs and five assists, won its 14th match in 15 tries with a triumph at North Dakota State.

Illinois State volleyball player Ali Line led her team with 12 kills in a three-set sweep at Indiana State. The senior middle blocker also finished with four blocks and three digs.

Middle Tennessee setter Taylor Hammill finished with 30 aces, 15 digs and a service ace in her squad’s home loss to Southern Mississippi. Hammill stepped up with 43 assists, 16 digs and five kills in the team’s five-set victory over Tennessee State.

Taylor defensive backs Sam Bolin and Tyler Watson each had five tackles in the Spartans’ 49-36 loss to St. Xavier. Freshman defensive lineman Brad Boswell also chipped in a tackle for the Spartans.

Marian linebacker Bailey Bennett had four tackles, including one for loss, in the sixth-ranked Knights’ 37-28 victory at top-ranked and defending NAIA national champion St. Francis.

Connor Steeb, a sophomore defensive back for the University of Indianapolis, finished with six tackles in the Greyhounds’ 41-17 home win over Lincoln (Missouri). Sophomore Clay Hadley started his 16th consecutive game on the offensive line.

Junior receiver Joey Siderewicz had three catches for 16 yards and a rushing attempt in Franklin College’s 42-39 victory against visiting Rose-Hulman. 

Redshirt freshman Trevor Hohlt had a tackle in Ball State’s 52-24 romp over Kent State.

Vanderbilt sophomore Cameron Tidd finished with a tackle in his team’s 31-27 victory over Tennessee State.

Western Illinois fullback Max Norris had 18 yards on 12 carries in the Leathernecks’ 45-38 defeat of visiting Youngstown State.

Stanford defensive end Jovan Swann had a tackle for the Cardinal in a 38-17 loss at Notre Dame.

FRANKLIN

Vincennes freshman golfer Matt Jordan had the second-lowest score on the team (79-74—153) as the Trailblazers finished fifth at the Butler Fall Invitational.

Jacob Hash helped the Franklin College men’s golf squad to a fourth-place finish at the DePauw Invitational, shooting an 82-80—162 at Deer Creek Golf Course.

Franklin College freshman defensive lineman Manny Cheam had two tackles in the Grizzlies’ 42-39 triumph over Rose-Hulman.

Sophomore Noah Roberts helped Marian’s tennis squad defeat Bethel, 9-0, with victories at No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles. Against Taylor at the Crossroads League Tournament, Roberts won his match, 6-0, 6-1, while also winning at doubles.

Franklin College junior runner Blaine Conners finished 19th with a personal-best time of 26:42 at the Greater Louisville Classic.

INDIAN CREEK

Freshman Morgan Timmons ran a time of 27:12 for the Franklin College women’s cross country squad at the Greater Louisville Classic.

EDINBURGH

Senior defensive back Elliott Parmer collected three tackles for Franklin College as it defeated Rose-Hulman, 42-39.

WHITELAND

Anderson receiver Matthew Luechtefeld had four catches for seven yards in the Ravens’ 55-8 home loss to Hanover.

RONCALLI

DePauw receiver and Greenwood resident Will Harris had three catches for 43 yards and a touchdown in the Tigers’ 38-17 win over Ohio Wesleyan.
