Two men arrested after accident

Two men were arrested after the vehicle they were riding in got into an accident and then they fled police and falsely told them a third person was involved in the accident.

Angrej Singh, 8664 Reddich Ave., Avon, was arrested on a charge of false informing. Paramvrir Singh, 1529 Boyles Lane, Indianapolis, was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

A person reported at 12:40 a.m. Monday that a driver had fled a wrecked vehicle by running into a cornfield near the 6200 block of County Road 125W., Whiteland, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

Pictures taken at the scene show that vehicle was traveling south, crossed the center line and off the road way on the east side of the road. The truck then hit a mailbox, a telephone box and a utility pole, the report said.

Officers found both men hiding in the cornfield. Both men told police that another passenger was in the vehicle and had fled. Paramvrir Singh was too intoxicated for police to attempt field sobriety tests.  He refused to take a certified test, according to the report.

Angrej Singh was held on $2,000 bond. Paramvrir Singh was held on $1,000.
