Norman R. Gregory, age 76, passed away Tuesday evening, October 16, 2018 at Hickory Creek at Franklin. He was a resident of Columbus and a former resident of Muncie and Greencastle.

Norman was born August 24, 1942 in Indianapolis and raised by his mother, Wilma Pauline (Schroeder) Gregory and his step-father, Garland W. “John” Rasdall. He was a 1960 graduate of Trafalgar High School where he was active in FFA and showing cattle as a member of Johnson County 4-H. Norman went on to attend Purdue University in Lafayette.

Norman retired in 1993 from the Capsule Manufacturing Department of Eli Lily and Company after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Jar Community Church in Muncie and a former member of the New Providence Church in Greencastle, where he was an active Deacon and taught Bible studies.

When it came to working with wood, Norman was a skilled carpenter. He also enjoyed drawing house plans to scale and will be remembered as being very patriotic with flying the American Flag and collecting eagles. Norman, being very adventurous, enjoyed traveling with his wife to new places and visiting friends and family. He was a fan of old gospel and country music and enjoyed watching crime shows like CSI and NCIS. Norman will be remembered for his sense of humor, telling jokes, making friends and family smile and his big hugs.

Norman is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elaine Sue (Fisher) Gregory, whom he married on January 6, 1973 in Indianapolis. He is also survived by his children, Bonni (Charlie) Whitewater of Boise, ID, Shelli (Robert) Wells of Vicksburg, MS, Vonda (Chris) Smith of Laveen, AZ, Dawn (Chris) Ross of Seymour and Deana Gregory (Deana Fagan) of Wilmington, DE; sister, Janet (Kenneth) Haste of Trafalgar; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, James R. Gregory; mother and step-father; and a great grandson, Richard Herma Ross.

The Rev. Chris Bunch will conduct a Celebration of Life Service at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
