Women’s soccer handles Earlham

Maddie Fleet scored three goals to help Franklin College pull away for a 4-1 win over Earlham on Saturday. Lauren Schuld added a goal for the Grizzlies (8-7-1, 5-2 HCAC).

Women’s tennis drops HCAC semi

Franklin College saw its fall season come to a close with a 5-3 loss to Transylvania in an HCAC tournament semifinal on Saturday.

Holyn Eldridge had a singles win and teamed with Alexa Schofner for a doubles point. Karen Dringenburg added a three-set singles victory.

Men’s soccer comes up short

Despite a career-best 10 saves from goalkeeper Elliott Clark, including five in the final 20 minutes, Franklin College took a 1-0 loss at Earlham on Saturday.

Swim teams open season

Franklin College started the swimming and diving season on Saturday with the Indiana DIII Invitational at Wabash. The Grizzlies were second in the women’s meet and fourth on the men’s side.

Sophomores Jessica Halsmer and Jacqueline Richard each had three first-place finishes for the Franklin women.
