Two residents report property egged

At least two cars were egged this weekend in Center Grove, and the sheriff is reminding residents that what may seem like Halloween mischief is illegal and could cause damage.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate incidents of eggs being thrown at cars early Sunday morning in neighborhoods. The owner of one car told deputies it may have caused damage to a recent paint job, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.

The first incident occurred at 4532 Silver Springs Drive in Greenwood, near County Line and Morgantown roads. The homeowner told deputies that someone threw two eggs at her daughter’s car.

The second incident occurred at 1375 White Ash Drive in Greenwood, near State Road 135 and Olive Branch Road. The homeowner told deputies that someone threw an egg at his truck.

Sheriff Doug Cox is reminding the public that damaging someone’s property is illegal and is cause for arrest, and that eggs will damage vehicle paint and certain stone on homes.
