Kindergarten students disguise turkeys in annual tradition

Kindergarten students at Creekside Elementary School tried to get the turkeys a pardon.

They used puff balls to disguise a turkey as Santa Claus, a bubble gum machine and a snowman. They cut out paper into shapes to turn the gobblers into a cheerleader, a rock star and sunshine. Stickers were used to help disguise the bird as a birthday party.

Students in Aly Werner’s class have been disguising turkeys as a homework assignment for at least six years.

The activity allows the young students to practice their writing skills and allows them to get creative with a holiday assignment, she said.
