A Franklin man has been charged with child molesting after police said he performed a sexual act on a child last summer.
George D. Porter, 74, 1941 Younce St., was arrested on a charge of child molesting Tuesday. The incident happened in July, court documents said.
The girl, who is less than 14 years-old, told investigators that he touched her inappropriately on three places on her body, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Another child who was in the home at the time reported that they saw Porter kiss the girl and inappropriately touch her, according to the affidavit.
The girl told a relative what happened and the relative called police. She was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health so forensic evidence could be taken.
He is held on $17,500 bond at the Johnson County Jail.
