Eight Republican candidates want to be on the Prince’s Lakes Town Council.
Incumbents Charles Bourne, Michael Gallamore, Lorri McCall, Greg Nelson and Troy Meadows are challenged by newcomers Philip Montarsi, Jo Ellen O’Sullivan and Karen Harrison for a spot on the town council. Five seats are available.
Harrison is currently the town’s current clerk-treasurer. She is not running for that position.
The top five vote-getters will be on the ballot in the fall, where they may meet a Democrat or Independent challenger. None have filed for the seat yet, but they can still mount a challenge until July.
The job paid $4,200 and town council members are charged with setting the annual spending for the town, making policy changes and adopting new local rules and ordinances.
