Franklin Township Trustee wins award

Lydia Wales, Franklin Township trustee, was announced as the 2019 Indiana Trustee of the Year.

Indiana contains 1,008 townships including nine in Johnson County. Wales is currently serving her second term in office. This is the first time a trustee in Johnson County has received this award since the 1980s.

Community holds groundbreaking

Greenwood Village South Life Plan Community conducted a groundbreaking on Sept. 25 to mark the start of its expansion of new independent living cottages.

The new ranch-style cottages will range from 1,300 to 2,014 sq. ft. and be available in four floor plans. Homes will include a sun room and outdoor patio, high-end finishes, all brick exteriors, a two-car garage and more. Residents will also have access to all the services and amenities of Greenwood Village South.

Greenwood Village South is a not-for-profit community offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care and rehabilitative services all on one campus. They are located at 295 Village Lane in Greenwood.

Area Citizen Bank announces promotion

Lauren Harmon will be promoted to assistant vice president of treasury management on Nov. 1. She will be responsible for working with Citizens Bank’s business customers to maximize their daily workflow.

Harmon joined Citizens Bank in 2004 as a branch teller and became a branch manager and most recently the treasury management officer.

She is a graduate of Indiana University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in general studies, majoring in business and psychology.
