Personal trainer, high-end restaurant on tap in Center Grove

A high-end restaurant, personal trainer and offices for a home health care agency are coming to the fastest growing area in the county.

Developer Duke Homes is building and leasing spaces for a commercial retail center at 5080 N.. State Road 135, near State Road 135 and Whiteland Road. The site, dubbed South Grove Commons, is northwest of the Bargersville intersection.

One retail center that is about 9,500 square feet is under construction, and a second commercial building that mirrors that one will be built later, said Mike Duke, owner of Duke Homes.

The first building, which has been under construction since the summer, is nearly full and will have five or six tenets. A high-end restaurant, UFit personal training and a home health care agency have already signed on, Duke said.

Site plans filed with the Town of Bargersville show a possible seven suites that could be occupied.

Duke would not disclose the name of the businesses that plan on occupying the spaces. UFit Personal Training was listed on town documents as being one of the tenets of the new retail strip.

The restaurant will have a covered seating area for dining, Duke said.

The county approved original plans for the site in 2007, and a replat was approved in 2011. Another portion of the replat was approved by the town’s planning commission in late 2016, according to town documents.

Duke has owned the property for several years and chose the location for development because of suspected long-term growth in the Bargersville area, Duke said.

“I feel like it will be a great long-term location," he said.

The company began actively developing and building this year, as businesses start to make their way south from the north side of White River Township, Duke said.

New homes are also going up in Bargersville at a fast rate, which creates a need for this type of retail space, he said.

"Now is the right time to start with it," Duke said.

The first building is expected to be finished in the next few months, and construction on the second building will start immediately after. Both buildings were designed with Center Grove area aesthetics in mind, Duke said.

“We (are trying) to do something that looks nice and is high end to fit in with the area," he said.
