Edinburgh man arrested on multiple drug charges after traffic stop

An Edinburgh man was arrested after police found drugs and syringes in his vehicle during a traffic stop near Edinburgh.

Ronnie Houchens, 52, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a legend drug injection device and possession of marijuana.

A Bartholomew County sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle around midnight Sunday at the intersection of N. U.S. 31 and W. Market Place Drive. Houchens had two baggies of a green leafy substance and a bag of a white crystal substance, deputies said.

He was arrested and taken to the Bartholomew County jail where he is held on $126,000 bond.
