Man arrested on attempted murder charge after shooting at police

A Greenwood man was arrested on a charge of attempted murder after he shot a gun at a Bargersville police officer.

Andrew Phillip McQuinn, 27, was arrested on a charge of attempted murder late Sunday.

The Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office will decide what, if any, charges to file.

Bargersville police responded to a domestic disturbance call at 8 p.m. Sunday at Clary Crossing Apartments on the northside of town, according to a news release from the Bargersville Police Department.

Dispatch told officers that a man and woman were involved, and there was a gun at the scene. An officer saw a muzzle flash in his direction and heard multiple gunshots, the news release said.

The officer took cover. The man threw the gun on the ground and officers arrested him, according to the news release.

McQuinn, 636 Lawndale Drive, was taken to the Johnson County jail, where he is held on $40,000 bond.
