Local church seeks memorabilia for its 200th birthday

Grace United Methodist Church will soon be celebrating its 200th birthday. Church historian Rich Gotshall is looking for items and pre-1940 photographs related to the Franklin church.

Other items of interest are from the church’s centennial display in 1925:

  • Diary or journal of Rev. Isaac Crawford, possibly donated by Mattie Bergen;
  • Saddle and saddle bags of Rev. Joseph Cotton, possibly donated by Mayme Johnson;
  • Portrait or photo of Thomas Willliams, husband of Mary Van Sciock Williams.

If you have any items to lend or donate, contact Gotshall at [email protected] or 317-736-9167.
