Greenwood man arrested on domestic battery charge

A man and a 14-year-old girl were both arrested after a dispute at a Greenwood home.

David B. Lindsey, 39, was arrested on a felony domestic battery charge.

Greenwood police responded to the call at 7:20 p.m. Sunday. A woman reported Lindsey had assaulted the 14-year-old girl. The caller told police she and Lindsey were arguing when the girl stepped in and started yelling at Lindsey. She said Lindsey punched the girl several times, according to the a Greenwood Police Department report.

The child appeared to have a bleeding lip. Lindsey had two large scratches on his chest, the report said. Lindsey said the girl pushed, hit and scratched him. He told police he may have accidentally hit her in the mouth when he pushed her back, the report said.

The girl was taken to the hospital before being placed under arrest then released to her mother, according to the report.

Lindsey was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail, where he is being held without bond.
