JCPL closes branches while it comes up with plan

The local library system on Monday closed all its branches, and that closure continues today.

The Johnson County Public Library said in a news release that all its branches were closed to the public Monday and Tuesday while staff figures out how to proceed in the face of the COVID-19, or coronavirus, pandemic.

The library board will decide how to proceed at its meeting at 5 p.m. today.

The library had already canceled all public programs and said it would not allow use of its meeting rooms until at least April 13, according to an earlier news release from the library.
