Virtual event to help leaders manage remotely

Leadership Johnson County will host a virtual workshop on challenges while leading remotely from 10-11:30 a.m. April 23. The event will be held via Zoom.

The workshop, "Building on Your Foundation When Leading Remotely," will explore tips and recommendations to guide leaders as they adapt to working with newly remote teams. The last several weeks have challenged leaders who now have more employees working remotely than ever before, many without adequate transitions or protocols in place.

Participants will explore the most critical first step when leading remotely, review a model for setting a solid foundation to keep employees focused, review a guideline to help leaders manage remotely and learn to use a “key words at key times” skilled communication approach when employees don’t meet expectations. Other skills featured in the event will include reviewing strategies of engagement and understanding how leadership plays a key role in how employees behave in unfamiliar territory.

The event will be facilitated by Steve Wohlford, a leadership advisor for the Indiana Department of Child Services. He has more than twenty-five years of management and executive leadership experience in both for-profit and non-profit sectors.

Tickets to the workshop are $25 per person. For more information or to register for the event, please visit our website at www.leadershipjohnsoncounty.org or contact Kathleen Ratcliff at [email protected].
