Coronavirus cancellations, postponements and employment opportunities

The following are closings or cancellations that have been reported related to the coronavirus threat.

Colleges

Ivy Tech Community College-closed all buildings.

County Services

Franklin Township Trustee’s office — working from home, if need assistance call office and leave message, checking voicemail every hour.

Greenwood — NO heavy trash pick up until the end of May. Trash carts and/or toters will still be picked up automatically, anything outside the trash container will not be picked up.

New Whiteland — NO heavy trash pick up until further notice. Regular trash service and recycling will be on regular schedule as the totes are picked up with an automated truck. Employees will not be handling trash bags or heavy trash items until further notice.

All Johnson County Public Libraries — closed until future notice but are still offering services including:

  • Answering calls at 317-738-2833 from 9 am. to 2 p.m. Monday-Friday, also visit pageafterpage.org for hours and to chat with a librarian.
  • Downloadable books, audiobooks, movies, music and more are available to all JCPL cardholders.
  • Free wi-fi access is available in all library parking lots. Look for the “JCPL-Guest” network, no password required.

Trafalgar town hall new hours — Wednesday’s and Friday’s 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Utility office will remain open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. utility payments outside of these hours may be made on-line or using the drop box. Visit www.townoftrafalgar.org for the on-line payment option.

Facilities

Habitat for Humanity of Johnson County — Due to COVID-19 the ReStore is temporarily closed for business and have suspended all pick-ups.

Franklin Cultural Arts and Recreation and Active Adult Center will be closed until further notice. All activities and programs run through the parks department will also be suspended until further notice.

Hi-Way Lanes, Franklin – closed until further notice.

Nineveh Senior Center – closed until the COVID 19 restrictions are done.

Health Services

Indiana Medicaid allows interactions between patients and health care providers, as well as other Medicaid service deliveries, to occur either over the phone or through the use of telemedicine technologies.

Indiana Department of Natural Resources

DNR division of fish and wildlife close offices to the public. For more information: dnr.IN.gov and wildlife.IN.gov/3077.htm.

Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs

Veteran assistance during COVID-19 emergency. Coronavirus emergency application are available at in.gov/dva and will provide undisrupted assistance to veterans and their families during this national emergency.

Museums

Johnson County Museum of History, closed to the public until further notice. The Victorian Tea event is cancelled. The Storytellers from the Past event scheduled for May 16 has been postponed.
